Chemistry Olympiad

In January, three students in the U6 and one in the L6 took part in the Chemistry Olympiad competition. Designed to challenge and inspire, and with thousands of entrants every year, the Chemistry Olympiad is the UK’s leading Chemistry competition. It involves the completion of a highly challenging 2-hour paper covering a wide range of advanced topics; this year’s paper contained questions on everything from fuel-producing bacteria to the atmospheric chemistry of distant planets. Participants need to be resilient and determined; the paper is deliberately designed to be far harder than anything encountered even at A Level. We are therefore delighted to announce that all four pupils taking part were awarded certificates this year! Silver certificates were awarded to Janane, Salma and Jojo, and a gold certificate was awarded to Anita. Congratulations to all four students on this fantastic achievement!
