Senior Management Team
Mrs Fiona Boulton
Headmistress
Headmistress of Guildford High School since 2002 and Deputy Head for five years previously.
Fiona is a Member of the Learning Partners Academy Trust and a member of the governing body of Hoe Bridge Prep School, St Ives Prep School and Epsom College. Currently she is an Associate Director of the University of Cumbria in addition to being part of the Ofqual Advisory Group and the Pearson Advisory Group.
Fiona held the HMC Chair role for 2019-20 and was an Advisory Board Member of the Institute for Ethical Artificial Intelligence in Education (2019-2021).
Fiona is on the Advisory Board of a new charity, School Partnerships Alliance (SPA), which will focus on promoting the best partnership practice across both state and independent education sectors.
Mrs Karen Laurie
Deputy Head Pastoral
Karen leads pastoral care within the school and coordinates our wellbeing programme. Her pastoral team includes Heads of Year, Form Tutors and our nursing staff. Deputy Head Pastoral since 2009, Karen joined Guildford High School in 2003 as teacher of History.
Mr Duncan Peel
Deputy Head Academic
Duncan oversees the structure, content and delivery of the curriculum and has responsibility for all compliance matters. Deputy Head Academic since 2017, Duncan joined Guildford High School from Hampton School where he was Head of Modern Languages.
Mr Will Saunders
Deputy Head Co-curricular
Will oversees curriculum enrichment and the school’s co-curricular activities, including the House system and trips and expeditions. Will joined Guildford High School in 2006 and was appointed Deputy Head in 2008. Prior to GHS, Will was Head of History at The Perse School for Girls, Cambridge.
Mr Allistair Williamson
Head of Junior School
Allistair joins Guildford High School from Surbiton Girls’ & Boys’ Preparatory Schools where he was Deputy Head overseeing staff development. He has previously held Head of Year roles and responsibility for digital learning strategy in schools in both England and New Zealand.
