Moving to Senior School

We hope and expect that all girls in Year 6 of our Junior School will move into Year 7 of the Senior School.

To prepare our Junior School girls for life in Year 7, a variety of events are organised by the Admissions team and the pastoral team. In Year 5 all girls and their parents visit the Senior School, hear from Karen Laurie, our Head, and the senior leadership team and enjoy a tour with our current pupils. Regular catch-ups also take place between our junior girls and the Year 7 team to answer all of the questions girls may have about moving up. In Year 6, new joiner day provides all girls moving to the Senior School with a chance to spend a school day with their new classmates and teachers.

Junior School girls join us happy and ready to enjoy life next door in the Senior School.

Moving to other schools

Of course moving to the Senior School may not suit every family and in previous years we have supported girls to access places at a range of first-choice Senior Schools including boarding schools, co-educational establishments and specialist schools.

Girls who do choose to leave at the end of Year 6 will be prepared and supported through the 11+ process.
