Languages Week

In the week before the February half-term it was wonderful to feel the buzz around school that could only mean one thing: Modern Languages Week!

From a themed baking competition on Monday morning to a Spanish Play on Friday, via a few quizzes, games of boules, salsa dancing lessons, and multi-lingual Zumba sessions, we celebrated our love of languages and cultures in every way we could think of.

A highlight of the week was certainly Tuesday evening’s Language Festival. An element of friendly competition saw everyone up their game, ans we everything from a German grammar lesson through song to a demonstration of two rare Chinese instruments! The Modern Languages department would like to express our gratitude to all the staff around the school who shared their talents and linguistic skills with us throughout the week; to the Lower Sixth Languages Ambassadors who helped organise events and supervise performers; to the two members of Year 13 who taught Dutch in assembly; and to every member of the school who took part in making this week so fantastic.
