Author, Colin Stuart, presents his “Ultimate Guide to Time Travel.”
With Science Week coming up, the Sixth Form were treated to a fascinating lecture during their General Studies session on Tuesday 5th March, delivered by the award-winning science author and communicator Colin Stuart. Titled “The Ultimate Guide to Time Travel”, the talk explored the cutting edge in our understanding of the physics of time, touching on Einstein’s theory of relativity, the nature of spacetime, and the origins and future of our universe. Using some mind-bending logic, Colin showed us that time travel is not only possible, but has already happened, while also explaining that, according to the laws of physics, there is no such thing as free will. The number and quality of questions asked at the end showed that the students engaged thoughtfully with these challenging ideas, and we hope it got them excited for the variety of events happening during Science Week!
