Guildford High School is a remarkable place where curiosity thrives. The moment you walk through the doors you can feel the buzz, the energy and the excitement. In the corridors you hear laughter, chatter and debate. Our pupils embrace challenges both in and out of the classroom. As a result, they excel in so many areas. We see the breadth and depth of their achievements not only in academic results, but through the multitude of other interests which they pursue to the highest level. Most of all, you become aware of the warmth, friendship, happiness and passion for learning and for new challenges which exist within our school. It is a pleasure and privilege to be part of this exceptional community.

Why GHS?
A supportive environment
All that we do at Guildford High School is designed with our pupils in mind. We nurture our pupils as they grow up in our care, providing an environment of openness, trust and kindness, so that pupils feel safe and secure.
A love of learning and intellectual curiosity is fostered throughout the school, from the youngest to the oldest pupils. Our teachers encourage pupils to learn creatively and collaboratively to help them to maximise their potential. Our style of teaching encourages the exploration of ideas and the discovery of interests in academic subjects, music, sport, art and others beyond the classroom.
We provide a supportive environment in which appropriate risks can be taken with confidence and resilience developed. We are immensely proud of the responsible citizens our pupils become.
Following the success of the 2016 Hall, the new building will support the creation of a centre of excellence for performing arts and music. Consisting of dedicated drama teaching and rehearsal space, music classrooms, orchestra rehearsal space and practice rooms for individual peripatetic lessons, the facility will enrich our pupils’ learning and continue to provide teaching at the highest level.
We are proud to offer an all-through education with our Junior School and Senior School. Each school has its own distinct personality and pupils join us at several entry points. No matter the age of your child, our experienced Admissions team will take you through the admissions process and be on hand to answer all queries you may have.
