Interfaith food festival!

The interfaith food festival brought together pupils across all year groups to celebrate the diversity of religions within our community. We celebrated with a range of culinary delights, a chocolate cake made according to Jewish Kosher laws, Eid cookies, Diwali sweets and hot cross buns. The Equality society who helped to host the event also provided a fun activity in the form of making Christingles. As we ate, we shared stories of our individual traditions and enjoyed the sense of community that comes with a great feast!

This was part of Interfaith Week, which culminated in an assembly that reminded us of the importance of learning from and engaging with the traditions and practices of others. We learnt that acts of kindness and generosity go a long way to understanding and loving one’s neighbour.
