Scholarships
Scholarships at 11+
Academic scholarships are awarded based on entrance examination results and interviews. All candidates who sit the entrance examination on the main entrance assessment day are automatically considered for scholarship. Scholarships are available to internal and external candidates and are usually worth between 5% and 10% of fees. Honorary scholarships are also available.
Candidates applying for music scholarships will need to submit an additional application, to include a short videoclip (no longer than one minute in length) of the candidate performing a piece of their choice. Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to audition shortly after the Interview Day has taken place. Potential music scholars are expected to satisfy our usual academic requirements for entry. Candidates should normally have reached Grade 4-5 standard on their orchestral instrument and their playing should be of Distinction quality. It is expected that candidates should normally offer a second instrument. Awards are usually worth between 5% and 10% of fees.
Please see our Further Information Booklet for more details.

Music Scholars are expected to satisfy our usual academic requirements for entry to the Sixth Form. Candidates will need to submit an additional application, to include a short videoclip (no longer than one minute in length) of the candidate performing a piece of their choice. Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to audition in November of the year prior to entry, when they will be expected to perform a piece of about 4-5 minutes in length on both their principal and second instruments. Candidates should be about Grade 8 standard on their principal instrument, although the examination may not have been taken, and their playing should be of Distinction quality.
