Virtual cross-country replaced our usual invitational event which was scheduled for Monday 5 October. Rather than cancel, we invited the schools, including St Hilary’s, Danes Hill and Tormead, to take part in an ‘online’ cross-country meet. Girls from Years 3 and 4 were invited to enter the 800m race with girls in Years 5 and 6 competing in a 1k distance race. In addition to the usual cross-country races, schools also entered the Shuttle Competition to see how many shuttles of a netball court their pupils could run during the competition.
The beauty of hosting an online fixture is there is no cap on the number of girls taking part! We are thrilled to say that all girls in KS2 entered the virtual Cross-Country Competition during their athletics lessons. Well done to all the girls who got involved but special mention to Isabel, Isla and Jessica who won the events for Years 3, 4 and 5 respectively. The top scorers in the Shuttle Run Challenge were Isla and Emily from Year 4, Jessica and Jamie in Year 5, and Ella, Flora, Alyona, Zoë and Scarlett in Year 6. Well done girls!
