Junior School Christmas Goes Virtual

‘I’m sorry girls, I can’t let you sing’ isn’t a phrase we are happy to hear in the Junior School. After humming carols and Christmas songs in lessons, we were thrilled to record and livestream our Christmas performances this year.

It was an absolute delight to be able to have our Carol Service in Holy Trinity Church. On the day of recording, our KS2 girls sang the carols they had prepared out loud for the first time. It was such a thrill and also incredibly moving to hear once again the beautiful, massed voices. Likewise, it was wonderful for Year 6 to have their time in the spotlight, as we live streamed their Carol Service from Holy Trinity to parents.

Year 2 also impressed with their Nativity. With help from Reception and Year 1 – pre-recorded, of course – Year 2 had their time on the stage with the stage lights and their script live streamed to their parents at home.

We are truly grateful to all those who have made these performances possible. There is nothing quite like being able to sing with your friends.

Our Carols Around the Christmas Tree Concert this year had all the buzz of our normal performance in terms of the musical and drama content. As we recorded each item in the Junior School Hall we missed the warmth of our appreciative audience, especially their amazing singing in the 2016 Hall. We thank our parents for continuing to support the wealth of music making this term; here’s to many more events next term!
