Fundraising for Female Education
Over the Christmas holidays, Adya in Year 9 challenged herself to write a novella in 31 days to fundraise £6,000; enough to send 30 girls to school in India for 5 years. Adya has already reached this target, and at the time of writing has raised over £6,700 on GoFundMe.
The money is going to IIMPACT, which aims to mobilise non-school going girls aged 6-14 from economically and socially backward rural areas of India and give them quality primary education. Since 2002 it has helped educate over 100,000 girls. Today, IIMPACT educates 50,000 girls in 1500 villages in India.
Well done to Adya, this is an incredible achievement (especially aged 13!). For more information, Adya’s GoFundMe page is linked below.
