Adestes Fideles at GHS
The Carol Service is considered by many of us here at GHS to be the highlight of the Christmas period. We were therefore delighted to hear from alumna, Rosalind Gardyne (née Lonsdale), recently with an anecdote about an incident that occurred at a GHS Carol Service in 1980.
After reading History at Durham University, Rosalind had a good management career, having entered The Post Office group (as it was then) on its higher Graduate entry level. Then aged 40, she followed her dream to become a professional Actress and had 13 interesting years before having to take a break for sad family care. She was re-entering the business and had just been cast in a play which should have appeared at the Guildford Festival this year when the pandemic hit. In Lockdown, recording a 5 minute monologue for the writer of the play, she had the idea to try her own pieces to raise her profile whilst entertaining family and friends. Hence Ros’ Real Anecdotes on YouTube, all about 30 seconds. You can hear more about Adestes Fideles and Ros’ other anecdotes on her YouTube channel here.
